Criminal Intelligence Cryptocurrency Analyst

The New England State Police Information Network (NESPIN) is a regional center dedicated to assist local, state, federal, and tribal criminal justice agencies by providing adaptive solutions and services that facilitate information sharing, support criminal investigations, and promote officer safety.

NESPIN has an immediate opening for a Criminal Intelligence Cryptocurrency Analyst. This is a full-time non-exempt position, located at NESPIN headquarters in Franklin, Massachusetts. The schedule for this onsite position is Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, during regular business hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide case-specific analytical assistance to member agencies in the area of cryptocurrency tracing and analysis.
  • Prepare written and oral reports summarizing the results of analytical work.
  • Review relevant literature to keep current on trends regarding cryptocurrency exchange policies, cryptocurrency ATMs, and cryptocurrency related laws.
  • Perform other related duties or projects assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or criminal justice.
  • Certification in cryptocurrency tracing.
  • A working knowledge of criminal justice investigations and the criminal justice system.
  • Knowledge of criminal intelligence techniques and analytical procedures to effectively conduct analysis of criminal investigations.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication competencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, i2 Analysts Notebook, Blockchain analysis, and Chainalysis or similar platform.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of information and investigations coordinated, developed, and/or assisted by NESPIN.
  • The final candidate will be offered conditional employment and must pass a State Police background check before employment commences.
  • A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Starting pay: $39.08 per hour, plus comprehensive benefit package, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K and paid time off.
