Our agency is exploring the creation of a Crime Analysts 2 position to provide upward mobility and career progression within our unit. At the present, our agency only has a single Crime Analyst title that is not classified as a 1 or 2 position.
I am seeking assistance from anyone who has experience with creating or implementing tiered analyst positions. Can anyone provide information on the following:
- Do you have examples of job postings, job descriptions, or policies that distinguish, between a Crime Analyst 1 or 2?
- Has your agency incorporated union contract language addressing these levels? Please share if any.
- What lessons have you learned in setting up these positions to support analysts development and retention?
