Predictive Policing

According to the National Institute of Justice Predictive Policing is the technique of integrating data analysis with professional law enforcement expertise to understand why a problem arises and how to avoid the next problem. It builds on and melds pieces of community policing, intelligence-led policing and hot spots policing.

The Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts is dedicated to furthering this new policing strategy so that public safety agencies can operate more efficiently and effectively.
